COVID-19 | Municipal Bond Market Update
The municipal bond market is starting to see some signs of stability as rates in the Municipal Market Data Index (MMD) decreased each day last week. Since April 2, 2020, the 10-Year MMD dropped 0.58% (58 basis points) from 1.78% to 1.20%, its closing level on Thursday April 9, 2020. Please note that the bond market was closed on Friday April 10, 2020 for Good Friday. To provide additional context to this recent movement, note that the pre-COVID19 low this year for the 10-Year MMD was 0.78% on March 9, 2020 and its high for this year was 2.79% on March 20, 2020.
